The WSJ has a hilarious Q&A on the NFL Playoffs. Here’s a sample:

Did the Vikings run the score up Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys?

Cowboy partisans were miffed that Mr. Favre threw a fourth-down touchdown pass to give the Vikings a 34-3 lead with little time left. They considered it unnecessary and obnoxious, and they’re right. Anyone who’s taken a gander at the new, billion-dollar Cowboys Stadium, with its $40 million scoreboard, knows that if there’s one thing that the Cowboys don’t like, it’s something unnecessary and obnoxious.

For the last few months, I have been spending most of my weekends (and some weekdays) glued to NFL. That doesn’t mean, of course, that I understand all the rules. Mostly, I use my 7 strategies for watching NFL.

What does understanding all the rules have to do with watching a sport anyway? Ask most desi cricket fans.

It’s too bad I don’t live in Minneapolis. but if I did, I would definitely vote for this guy as Mayor. He is right, he is awesome!

Pilots shouldn’t pray, but passengers?

Pilots shouldn’t pray. That’s what an Italian court thinks. Pilots would do better, they think, to actually try to land planes instead of praying to God.

You can see they don’t believe God Lands Planes. I guess it’s not mentioned in any religious text.

But when you have mechanics who install wrong fuel gauges, and pilots who panic completely in emergencies, I think it’s really the passengers who should be praying.

Who says turtles aren’t intelligent?? These turtles certainly are.

About 60 newly hatched turtles decided to turn around and grab a bite at a beachside Italian restaurant before heading off to sea.

Why Italian, you might wonder.? Obviously, they were bored with seafood

Hailey Jo Hauer was born on 08.08.08 in Fergus Falls, MN.? Nothing unusual in that, though this is supposed to be a lucky date and all that.? But there’s more – she was born at 8:08 am.

And…she weighed 8 lbs 8 oz at birth.

I am trying to come up with what else she will do that will involve the number eight.

Will she grow eight feet tall?? Nah.? Okay, how’s this – she has eight strands of hair right now.? Each strand? is 8 cm long.

You guys have more suggestions?

Is there a doctor in the rock band?

I was very amused to read that rock band Queen’s founder and lead guitarist Brian May finally completed his doctoral thesis in astrophysics, after a 30 year break.? The thesis has just been published as a book.

We have heard of PhDs taking 5 and even 7 years to defend their thesis, but this was one PhD that took a little too long

There are many times when I have commented on some blog and hit “Submit”, only to discover that (a) I had another point to make; or (b) there are typos in my comment.? Usually, it’s the typos which frustrate me most.

Cut workweek, save money

Fairfax County is considering a four day workweek for county employees.? They say this will save money for the government.

Of course this makes complete sense.? Instead of not working 5 days a week and getting paid for it, government employees will not work 4 days a week now and get paid for it.

But one shouldn’t try this in the corporate/ private sector. It won’t save any money there.

Tornadoes like cats and toilet paper

Tornadoes are cat-lovers.? Why else would a tornado rip off the roof and overturn sofas, but leave the cat’s bowl untouched?? The same tornado also likes to play with toilet paper. Perhaps this was a teenage tornado then? Adolescent anger and all that?
