They are very beautiful flowers, I agree. They look like a cross between genda (marigold) and chrysanthemums, and it’s a real pity they are seen as weeds.

I wish I could take the benign neglect route. I seem to be surrounded by hyperactive neighbors whose lawns don’t have a leaf (or blade) out of place,.

Maybe they are like gnomes, you throw them out and they consider that an invitation to trudge back in right when you are not looking
That said, there should be a crime against classifying a dandelion as a weed, they are some of the most beautiful flowers I have seen. If only they would behave…

Hehehe… Well written. You just brought them alive in your post when you talked about how the weed remover spray acted like air freshener to them and how later they declared a war and all that.
