Too good! I have always been fascinated by the possibility that we might be Martians who made our way here to earth hitchhiking on a meteor.

I am not a Sci-Fi fan per say, but this was simply brilliant, right down to the last detail.

Nice one !
Theres a view in some scientist circles that we are actually polluting the yet untouched environments, but we cant help it can we. I am sure there is no question of air / microbes to escape through astronaut suits, but it can surely be that they are already present on surface of the landers/suits.

Perfect for an episode of the Twilight Zone no? Though I vaguely remember seeing achilling episode of Twilight Zone where life on an inhabitable planet light years away was destroyed due to an event which... well became part of folklore here on earth.

Wait ... I did the research. It's a Clarke story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Star_(short_story)
